Due to high demand and a robust waitlist, we are not offering tours unless we are able to offer your family a spot in our program. We do send updates to our waitlist several times a month to keep you updated. Additionally, the childcare industry, in general, is struggling with hiring. We are currently putting enrollment on hold while we focus on staff retention and hiring. We appreciate your understanding.

Toddlers

In our Toddler Classes, we recognize the growing independence and curiosity of children aged two to three years. Our small class sizes, with two teachers and additional support, ensure that each toddler’s needs are met in a caring, structured environment. We provide a balance of quiet areas and active play spaces, fostering the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development of each child. Our approach centers on forming deep, lasting relationships with our toddlers, akin to the love and respect they receive from their families. This nurturing environment helps toddlers thrive and feel like a part of our extended Escuela Viva family.

Lexie

Lexie Gordon

Site Director - I am so excited to be a part of the Escuela Viva community at the SE location. I grew up in Portland and pursued an education at the University of Oregon with a B.S. in Educational Foundations. While attending school, I was also a student teacher at the child development center on campus, where I worked with children ages six months to 6 years old and quickly fell in love with Early Childhood Education. (Lexie joined the EV team in 2020.)

Caroline Hadley

Originally from Los Angeles, my partner and I moved to Portland this spring. I earned my B.A. in Philosophy from the University of California, San Diego, and am continuing my studies in Early Childhood Education at Portland Community College. I’m passionate about supporting Escuela Viva’s mission to create a loving, inclusive, and playful environment where every child is supported and valued. In my free time, I love reading, spending time in nature, and discovering new coffee shops around the city. (Caroline joined the EV team in 2025.)
